A Thanksgiving Prayer

It is often in the little things, the details,

Often what we miss, we overlook,

It’s the small smile, the gentle touch, fleeting,

But all of a sudden,

The world bursts into light and song,

Into beauty and grace, into peace.

Then, I pray, let me bow down in thanks,

Thanks for the small blessings,

That stitch the joys of life together,

That sing in harmony,

That bring a smile, warmth to the heart.

I have so much, so many blessings

That I should fall down each day

In love with my life

And give thanks.

Amen.
